Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 553

All Veterans that have received the Purple Heart Medal were earned by courage and sacrifice. They are American service members who were wounded fighting an enemy of the United States. They are combat veterans who served in a combat military zone during their military service. They are known as combat veterans.

They are individuals who served in the active military, naval, or air service who were discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable.
